LINEAR GROUP continues its growth path by investing in «Maritime Radio Communications, Navigation and Satellite» through the homonymous branch of business of SIRM – Società Italiana Radio Marittima S.p.A., Italian excellence, founded in 1927 by Guglielmo Marconi, active in the provision of telecommunication and navigation products and services for commercial ships and Maritime IT solutions.

Naples, July 2019 – Linear Group, one of the most innovative and dynamic Italian industrial companies operating for over 20 years in the Telecommunications and Finance markets, designing and manufacturing proprietary SW products, Digital Enabling solutions, ICT solutions and advanced technology infrastructure networks, continues its path of growth and diversification, investing in the maritime market, and it does so by leading an Italian excellence, such as the branch of business «Maritime Radio Communications, Navigation and Satellite» of SIRM – Società Italiana Radio Marittima S.p.A., with Head Office in Naples and 6 operational branches in the main Italian ports.

In 2018, the company branch achieved revenues of 8 million euros and is a reference point in the national and international market, not only for a history that began with the founding in 1927 by Gugliemo Marconi, but also for its expertise, territorial presence and network of international partners. SIRM Italia S.r.l. offers solutions for the sale, installation and maintenance of Communication, Navigation and Safety equipment, in compliance with international industry standards and equipped with innovative technologies.

The Branch is incorporated through the NewCo SIRM Italia S.r.L., fully owned by Linear Group.

LINEAR Group enters the maritime market of satellite telecommunications and value-added services, with a three-year investment plan, aimed at consolidating the business in Italy and its expansion, including abroad, with the opening of other new strategic offices.

The lease of the branch of business «Maritime Radio Communications, Navigation and Satellite«, aimed at its definitive acquisition, follows the growth strategy of the Group that, thanks to its expertise, is placed on the market as a Real Digital Integrator, operating on the market through specialized companies, complementary and synergistic, accompanying its customers in the continuous evolutions that the digital age is requiring, following the entire supply chain that starts from intelligent systems, networks, equipment, IT, Sw and services.

The company has the 737/00/CONS license for installing and operating on board radio electric stations, supplying maritime mobile services and satellite mobile service Immarsat (Accounting Authority and PSA IU02).

Engineer Giancarlo Coletta, one of the European managers with the most solid and recognised track record in the sector, has been appointed General Manager and CEO of Sirm Italia.
